Nicknamed “Prime Time,” Deion Sanders was as dominant a cornerback– and electrifying a figure both on and off the field – as the NFL has ever seen. Sanders, the No. 5 pick out of Florida State in 1989, made eight Pro Bowls and won the Defensive Player of the Year Award in 1994. Aided by his blinding speed, Sanders shut down top receivers and caused quarterbacks to ignore his side of the field. After playing for the Falcons his first five seasons, he won Super Bowls in consecutive seasons with the 49ers and Cowboys. Sanders had 53 career interceptions, nine of them returned for TDs. On special teams, he also returned a combined nine punts and kicks for touchdowns. Wearing his trademark bandana under his helmet, Sanders – who also played Major League Baseball in the offseason – became famous for high-stepping into the end zone and then dancing. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
