Peyton Manning, who played for the Colts and Broncos during a 17-season Hall of Fame career, is the NFL’s all-time leader in touchdowns thrown, with 539. A winner of two Super Bowls, Manning’s 71,940 passing yards rank third in league history, and his accolades include a record five MVPs and 14 Pro Bowls. In 2013, at age 37, Manning set a pair of single-season records with 55 TD passes and 5,477 yards. He was remarkably consistent, throwing for over 4,000 yards in 14 of his 17 seasons. The 6-foot-5 Manning’s assault on the NFL record books came after fulfilling – and exceeding – enormous expectations out of college. In 1998, Manning had been drafted first overall by the Colts out of Tennessee – and he quickly became a star. He’s also had a cultural impact off the field, too; his down-to-earth and humorous delivery enabled him to become a regular presence on TV commercials as a product spokesperson for Nationwide Insurance and Papa John’s Pizza, among other companies.
