Jerry Rice
Jerry Rice is widely considered to be the best wide receiver in NFL history. Statistically, he was by far the most productive: his career totals include 1,549 receptions, 22,895 yards and 197 TDs – each No. 1 by a large margin. A Mississippi native who starred at Mississippi Valley State, a tiny historically black college, Rice wound up playing 20 seasons in the NFL, the first 16 for the 49ers, for whom Rice won three Super Bowls. Rice made 13 Pro Bowls, was a 10-time first-team All-Pro and had over 1,000 yards receiving in 14 different seasons. Rice excelled on the biggest stage too, with 33 receptions, 589 receiving yards and 8 receiving TDs in 4 Super Bowls, all NFL records. The wideout never missed a game in college or the pros until his 13th NFL season – a span of nearly 200 non-strike games -- and took his rightful place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
