Randall Cunningham
Before Randall Cunningham emerged as the Eagles’ starting QB in the 1980s, quarterbacks were largely expected to be pure pocket passers – meant to scramble only under stress or unusual circumstances. But at 6-foot-4 and 212 pounds, Cunningham – with both a strong arm and excellent mobility – was a dual threat who could both run and pass the ball with great success. For his career, Cunningham threw for nearly 30,000 yards, while his 4,928 rushing yards rank 2nd most ever by a quarterback. Twice, he led the NFL in rushing yards per carry and his performance translated into wins: between 1985 and 2001 he threw over 200 passing touchdowns. Cunningham made three straight Pro Bowls between 1988 and 1990 and was a first-team All-Pro with the Vikings in 1998. At age 35, Cunningham tossed a career-best 34 touchdowns as he helped lead Minnesota to the NFC Championship game.
