LaDainian Tomlinson
LaDainian Tomlinson, strong and versatile at 5-foot-10 and 221 pounds, was one of the great all-around running backs in NFL history. Born in 1979 in Rosebud, Tex., Tomlinson – the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft out of TCU – rushed for over 1,100 yards in each of his first eight NFL seasons, including a league-best 1,815 in 2006 and 1,474 in 2007. He led the NFL in rushing touchdowns three times, including an all-time record 28 in 2006, a year in which he was the league’s MVP. Between 2004 and 2005, he ran for a TD in 18 consecutive games, tying an NFL record. He is second all-time in rushing TDs with 145, and sixth on the NFL’s all-time rushing list, with 13,684 yards. Also a top-notch receiver, Tomlinson caught over 50 passes in nine different seasons, and had a whopping 100 receptions in 2003. Tomlinson, who finished his career with the Jets in 2011, was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
