Bradshaw's TD Pass to Stallworth in SB XIV
A long connection between a pair of Hall of Famers was among the greatest and most significant plays during the Steelers dynasty. In Super Bowl XIV at the Rose Bowl, on the evening of January 20, 1980, the heavily-favored Steelers were losing 19-17 to the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth quarter. On a 3rd-and-8 from the Pittsburgh 27, Steelers QB Terry Bradshaw took the snap from under center, dropped back, and let one fly deep. Blazing fast Steelers receiver John Stallworth was streaking upfield but well-covered by defensive back Rod Perry, who was in great position to break up the play. Perry leaped but Stallworth, without breaking stride, went up and caught it over his own shoulder and kept on running into the end zone. The 73-yard score put the Steelers ahead, and they scored another touchdown to clinch their fourth Super Bowl in six years, 31-19.
