Washington Redskins

Coached by Hall of Famer Joe Gibbs, the 1991 Redskins won their third Super Bowl in a 10-season span, with a third different starting quarterback. Washington finished with a 14-2 record and was dominant on both sides of the ball, ranking first in scoring and second in points allowed. Eight different players made the Pro Bowl. On offense, QB Mark Rypien had his best season as a pro, with career-highs in wins (14), passing yards (3,564), touchdowns (28), and was sacked 7 times total in 16 regular season games. Running back Earnest Byner (1,048 yards rushing); and wide receiver Gary Clark (1,340 receiving yards, 10 TDs), each had Pro Bowl seasons. The future Hall of Fame wideout Art Monk, who was 34, had over 1,000 yards receiving and caught 8 TD passes. On defense, the blazing-fast Hall of Fame cornerback Darrell Green (5 interceptions) and defensive end Charles Mann (11.5 sacks) each had Pro Bowl seasons. After beating Atlanta, 24-7 in the NFC Divisional Round and Detroit, 41-10 to capture the NFC Championship, Washington beat Buffalo, 37-24 to win Super Bowl XXVI. Rypien threw for 292 yards and was named MVP. Of the 17 Redskins wins including the playoffs, 12 were by double digits.
