The 1964 Cleveland Browns won their 4th NFL Championship in a span of 15 seasons, defeating the Baltimore Colts, 27-0. Jim Brown, then 28, won the league rushing title for the 7th time in 8 seasons with 1,446 yards on an NFL-best 5.2 yards per carry. He was complemented by Pro Bowl QB Frank Ryan, whose 25 passing TDs ranked first in the league. Hall of Fame wide receiver Paul Warfield caught nine TDs in his rookie year and had 920 yards receiving, while 6-foot-5 receiver Gary Collins, with eight TD catches, were Ryan’s primary targets. Cleveland finished with a 10-3-1 record and faced the 12-2 Colts, led by league MVP Johnny Unitas, in the NFL Championship. Playing at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, Brown rushed for 114 yards, Hall of Fame Browns kicker Lou Groza kicked two field goals, and Ryan threw three TD passes to Collins for the decisive shutout victory.

Jack Nicklaus is one of the greatest golfers of all time. Known as “The Golden Bear,” he won a record six Masters and 18 major titles – and captured 70 official PGA Tour events between 1962 and 1986. An Ohio native, Nicklaus grew up rooting for the Browns, but moved to Florida and has had Dolphins seasons tickets since 1966. In 2018, the Dolphins signed Nicklaus’ grandson, tight end Nick O’Leary, a former Buffalo Bill and all-American at Florida State. When O’Leary first took the field for Miami with his grandfather looking on, “I was tickled pink,” Nicklaus said.
