Green Bay Packers
The 2010 Packers won the Super Bowl after a 10-6 regular season in which they earned an NFC Wild Card berth. Their success was thanks in part to a defense that allowed just 15 points per game, which ranked second in the league, and the quarterback play of Aaron Rodgers. The Packers QB threw for 3,922 yards and 28 touchdowns and Pro Bowler Greg Jennings, who finished 4th in the NFL with 1,265 receiving yards and tied for 2nd in the league with 12 receiving TDs. But it was the defense – and the outstanding secondary in particular – that carried Green Bay during the regular season. Four Packers on the defensive side of the ball made the Pro Bowl: cornerbacks Charles Woodson and Tramon Williams (six interceptions), safety Nick Collins, and linebacker Clay Matthews. As the #6 seed, the Packers won three straight road playoff games: 21-16 at the Eagles, 48-21 at the Falcons, then 21-14 at the Bears. In the Super Bowl, they beat the Steelers, 31-25 behind a 304-yard, three-touchdown passing effort by the game’s MVP, Rodgers, and 140 yards receiving by Jordy Nelson.
