2013 NFL Draft do-over: DeAndre Hopkins goes No. 1 to Chiefs

NFL evaluators will wait for three years to determine whether their prized prospects have lived up to the expectations that accompanied their arrivals as top picks. With the 2015 regular season in the books -- and with the Chiefs, who had the top pick in 2013, still alive in the playoffs -- it's a great time to assess the 2013 class and conduct a redo based on what we now know about the top players. After taking some time to reassess the prospects and the pressing needs of each team, here’s how the 2013 draft would look if the general managers took another stab at the selection process.

1. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Comment: Hopkins would give the Chiefs an explosive WR1 to build around with Alex Smith at the controls.

2. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Comment: The Jaguars have desperately needed an athletic DPR with explosive rush skills to feature off the edges in Gus Bradley's scheme.

3. MIAMI DOLPHINS

Do-over:Kyle Long

Comment: Long entered the NFL as a developmental prospect, but has blossomed into a Pro Bowl-caliber blocker at multiple spots.

4. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Do-over:Lane Johnson

Comment: The Eagles have fielded one of the NFL's top offensive lines since Johnson teamed with Jason Peters to solidify the edges as athletic bookends.

5. DETROIT LIONS

Do-over:Le'Veon Bell

Comment: Bell would've followed in the footsteps of Billy Sims and Barry Sanders as an electric runner blazing the turf in the Motor City.

6. CLEVELAND BROWNS

Comment: Richardson is a perfect fit for the Dawg Pound as a destructive force with immense talent and a surly attitude.

7. ARIZONA CARDINALS

Comment: The "Honey Badger" is the Cardinals' best player, and the heart and soul of a championship-caliber defense.

8. RAMS

Do-over: Same

Comment: Jeff Fisher hasn't fully maximized the diminutive playmaker's talents due to suspect quarterback play, but Austin's flashy game would make him a marquee name in Hollywood.

9. NEW YORK JETS

Do-over:Tyler Eifert

Comment: The Jets haven't had a dynamic "MOF" playmaker since Mickey Shuler roamed Shea Stadium in the 1980s.

10. TENNESSEE TITANS

Comment: The perennial Pro Bowler would be the perfect pivot to protect Marcus Mariota from taking shots from interior pass rushers.

11. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS

Do-over:Kawann Short

Comment: The Chargers could use a rugged interior defender with a nice mix of run-stopping ability and pass-rush skills.

12. OAKLAND RAIDERS

Comment: Patterson's speed and big-play ability as a kick returner would make him an ideal Raider selection.

13. NEW YORK JETS

Comment: Todd Bowles loves cover corners with the awareness and ball skills that Trufant displays on the island.

14. CAROLINA PANTHERS

Comment: Imagine if the Panthers could trot out Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis and Collins in their base defense. It would be a scary combination of defenders to feature in an aggressive zone-blitz scheme.

15. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Do-over:Keenan Allen

Comment: The Saints could use a big-bodied WR1 like Allen to feature in Sean Payton's aggressive aerial attack.

16. BUFFALO BILLS

Comment: Warmack is the perfect people-mover to thrive in the Bills' ground-and-pound scheme.

17. PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Comment: Mike Tomlin likes long, rangy corners with ball skills to play in the Steelers' revamped zone-based scheme. Rhodes has grown into a top-notch defender early in his career.

18. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Do-over: Same

Comment: Given Reid's quick ascension to the ranks of the elite, the 49ers would gladly take the ex-LSU standout in a redo.

19. NEW YORK GIANTS

Do-over:Travis Kelce

Comment: The G-Men have traditionally gotten production from late-round or undrafted prospects at the position, but a talented pass-catcher like Kelce would merit serious consideration at the top of the draft.

20. CHICAGO BEARS

Do-over:Eric Fisher

Comment: Despite his impressive physical dimensions, the Bears would need to patiently wait for Fisher to develop into a quality starter at left or right tackle.

21. CINCINNATI BENGALS

Do-over:Jordan Reed

Comment: The Bengals' electric offense would certainly benefit from a mismatch player like Reed on the perimeter. The hybrid playmaker would alleviate some of the pressure on A.J. Green to carry the passing game as a WR1.

22. ATLANTA FALCONS

Do-over:Eddie Lacy

Comment: Given Matt Ryan's success with a bruiser like Michael Turner in the backfield, the Falcons would seriously consider adding a big-bodied runner like Lacy.

23. MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Do-over: Same

Comment: Mike Zimmer has quickly transformed the Vikings into a bully in the NFC behind a rugged defense that overpowers opponents in the middle. Floyd is a big part of the reconstruction with his dominance as an interior defender.

24. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Do-over:Luke Joeckel

Comment: It would be wise for the Colts to invest in an edge blocker to protect the team's biggest asset (Andrew Luck).

25. MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Do-over:D.J. Fluker

Comment: With Adrian Peterson in the backfield, it's always a smart decision to add a people-pusher to the mix to upgrade the rushing attack.

26. GREEN BAY PACKERS

Comment: After watching Charles Woodson dominate in Lambeau with his diverse skill set, the Packers would certainly entertain the idea of adding a versatile defender like Vaccaro to the lineup.

27. HOUSTON TEXANS

Do-over:Justin Pugh

Comment: Pugh's versatility (offensive guard/tackle) would provide Bill O'Brien with lineup flexibility on game day.

28. DENVER BRONCOS

Do-over:Jarvis Jones

Comment: Wade Phillips collects pass rushers like trading cards, so the Broncos would have a tough time bypassing Jones at this stage of the draft.

29. MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Comment: Ogletree's speed and athleticism would shine in Zimmer's attack-style defense.

30. RAMS

Do-over:Manti Te'o

Comment: With the girlfriend hoax in the rearview mirror, Jeff Fisher would likely make a play for the intuitive tackling machine.

31. DALLAS COWBOYS

Comment: Murray would absolutely kill it behind the Cowboys' star-studded offensive line that routinely mauls defenders at the point of attack.

32. BALTIMORE RAVENS

Do-over:Darius Slay

Comment: Slay would solve the Ravens' cornerback woes with his sticky cover skills on the perimeter.
