PHILADELPHIA -- It's only fitting that in the City of Brotherly Love, the spirit of cooperation was at its strongest in the fraternity of NFL general managers. The 2017 NFL Draft broke the record for traded selections, now at 38 and counting, breaking the old mark of 34.
This was the first year that GMs were allowed to swap compensatory selections, adding to their possibilities.
The dealing began early when the Chicago Bears moved up just one spot to draft QB Mitchell Trubisky at No. 2 overall, and it didn't stop for three days. The early part of the second round saw a flurry of trades as well, leading to the selections of Alabama OT Cam Robinson (Jaguars) and Washington S Budda Baker (Cardinals), among others.
