Some of the most promising talents in the 2017 NFL Draft will put their athleticism on display for NFL scouts all over the country this week at pro-day workouts on the campuses of some of college football's top programs. Among the big attractions are Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett and FSU RB Dalvin Cook. A strong performance at the NFL Scouting Combine will spell limited participation on pro day for many top prospects, but even combine standouts typically go through position drills and conduct some team interviews at a minimum.
Here is a look at the coming pro-day week, and which prospects will be in the brightest spotlights:
Tuesday
Schools in action: Eastern Washington, Florida, Florida A&M, Florida State, Iowa State, Miami (Ohio), Stony Brook, Texas, Texas State, UNLV.
The big draw: FSU RB Dalvin Cook
Others to watch: Florida CB Teez Tabor, Florida CB Quincy Wilson, Florida LB Jarrad Davis, Florida State DE DeMarcus Walker, Texas RB D'Onta Foreman.
The big question: Will Cook improve on his NFL Scouting Combine showing?
Analyst take: "Dalvin Cook, a great player on tape, did not have a great workout (at the combine) in Indianapolis. We'll see if he can clean that up a little bit. I'd like to see him jump a little better there at the pro day. We'll see if he does those drills or not, but I know he can catch the heck out of the football, and I know when the lights come on, he's just fine." -- NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah
The big question: Can Tabor shave any time off the disappointing 4.62 40-yard dash that he clocked at the combine?
Analyst take: "Teez Tabor, Quincy Wilson, you want to see how these guys look when they're doing their movement drills. Quincy Wilson won't run (the 40-yard dash) again, but Teez Tabor has to get off that 4.6 time. Hard to justify a guy going in the first round with that on the card, but more importantly, I want to see their movement skills and how they catch the ball." -- NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks
Wednesday
Schools in action: Bowie State, Florida International, Fordham, Maryland, Miami, Navy, North Dakota State, Ohio, SMU, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, Stephen F. Austin.
The big draw: Miami TE David Njoku
Others to watch: Miami QB Brad Kaaya, Miami CB Corn Elder, FIU TE Jonnu Smith, Maryland DB William Likely.
The big question: Can Kaaya show NFL scouts the maneuverability and athleticism they're looking for from a quarterback who was a relatively stationary pocket passer at the college level?
Analyst take: "I think the focus will really be on Brad Kaaya. You want to make sure that Brad Kaaya has the stuff that it takes to be a franchise quarterback, so I'd want to check out the arm strength, I'd want to check out the accuracy, but more importantly, I want to see if the quarterback coaches can put him on the move. His athleticism is something that is in question." -- Brooks
Thursday
Schools in action: Ball State, Boise State, California (Pa.), Chattanooga, The Citadel, Dartmouth, Georgia Southern, Florida Atlantic, Louisville, North Texas, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M, Western Illinois, Yale.
The big draw: Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett
Others to watch: Chattanooga DE Keionta Davis, Florida Atlantic DE Trey Hendrickson, Louisville TE Cole Hikutini, Louisville DE Devonte' Fields, Louisville DB Josh Harvey-Clemons, Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett, Texas A&M DB Justin Evans.
The big question: After a stellar combine performance, will Myles Garrett do anything more than position drills?
Analyst take: "If I'm Myles Garrett at pro day, I wrap myself in bubble wrap and just sit on a couch. I don't think he has to do anything at this pro day. I'm sure he still will, to just show off that athleticism." -- Jeremiah
Friday
Schools in action: Indiana, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Texas Tech, West Virginia.
The big draw: Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes
Others to watch: Indiana OG Dan Feeney, Tennessee DE Derek Barnett, Tennessee CB Cam Sutton, West Virginia DB Rasul Douglas, West Virginia WR Shelton Gibson.
The big question: Can Barnett show the first-step quickness scouts want from a marquee pass rusher?
Analyst take: "Alvin Kamara and Derek Barnett are two guys that will be under the scope. Alvin Kamara will continue to show his ability to run routes out of the backfield, and for Derek Barnett, I'd want to see the first-step explosion. I know he has killer hands -- he's an excellent combat pass rusher, but I'd want to see if he has the get-off that he wants." -- Brooks
