This is a look at the first-round order for the 2025 NFL Draft heading into Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season, along with the top five needs for each team. The order is determined by record, using strength of schedule as the first tiebreaker (click here to see a full list of the draft-order tiebreakers). Keep in mind -- teams that would make the playoffs if the season ended today are marked as PL (short for playoffs) in the order below. The draft order for playoff teams is determined by the results of postseason play.
Arrows reflect movement from last week's order.
Biggest needs: QB, OT, CB, WR, OG
Week 13 opponent: at Cowboys
Remaining strength of schedule: .529 (11th)
If the Giants finish the season still in this spot, it'll be the first time in 60 years they'll be in position to select first overall in the draft. Quarterback is obviously the team's most pressing need, and they'll have their choice of passer if they hold on to this selection. But New York has several other areas it'll also have to address in April, including along the O-line. Guard is a bigger priority than tackle at the moment, and I suspect they'll target that position at some point early on Day 3.
Biggest needs: QB, WR, DT, CB, S
Week 13 opponent: at Chiefs
Remaining strength of schedule: .515 (14th)
Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker are solid WR2 and WR3 options for next year, and Brock Bowers is currently one of the top TEs in the league, but the team still needs a true No. 1 option on the perimeter. Assuming the Raiders take a QB here, look for them to target a highly rated receiver prospect on Day 2.
Biggest needs: CB, S, WR, OT, DT
Week 13 opponent: vs. Texans
Remaining strength of schedule: .338 (31st)
The Jaguars might have a revamped safety group in 2025. Starter Andre Cisco is due to become a free agent in the spring. Backups Andrew Wingard and Daniel Thomas have one year left on their deals. Darnell Savage and Antonio Johnson are under contract through 2026, but they could find a Day 2 pick joining their ranks next season.
Biggest needs: OT, CB, WR, Edge, OG
Week 13 opponent: vs. Colts
Remaining strength of schedule: .643 (2nd)
Christian Gonzalez will return to hold down one starting CB spot in 2025, but his current running mate, Jonathan Jones, is scheduled for free agency. Adding another outside defender in the first three rounds would make sense.
Biggest needs: WR, QB, OT, Edge, DT
Week 13 opponent: at Broncos
Remaining strength of schedule: .618 (3rd)
Former first-round pick Jedrick Wills was benched earlier this month for second-year tackle Dawand Jones, who is now out for the year with a fractured fibula. It seems unlikely Wills will re-sign as a free agent. Meanwhile, starting right tackle Jack Conklin hasn't played a full season since 2019 because of injuries. The team must select a swing tackle in the middle of the draft.
Biggest needs: Edge, WR, C, QB, CB
Week 13 opponent: vs. Buccaneers
Remaining strength of schedule: .530 (T-9th)
Although Carolina sacked Patrick Mahomes five times on Sunday, that number is just shy of the total the Panthers recorded in their previous five games combined (6). Adding more edge rusher help this offseason has to be top of mind for the team's front office.
Biggest needs: QB, DT, OT, S, CB
Week 13 opponent: vs. Seahawks
Remaining strength of schedule: .485 (T-19th)
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that there are questions as to whether the Jets want Aaron Rodgers to return next season. Even if No. 8 is back for one more spin, he turns 41 this December, so New York -- and its new administration -- will need to have a succession plan in place.
Biggest needs: WR, QB, OT, S, OG
Week 13 opponent: at Commanders
Remaining strength of schedule: .391 (29th)
I’m expecting the Titans to select a prospect in the middle rounds to compete with Nicholas Petit-Frere at right tackle. Petit-Frere was benched for a handful of games this season, but he returned to the starting lineup earlier this month.
Biggest needs: OG, C, WR, DT, Edge
Week 13 opponent: at Lions
Remaining strength of schedule: .727 (1st)
It's time to invest another pick in the trenches with Andrew Billings (currently on injured reserve), Gervon Dexter and Zacch Pickens the only interior defensive linemen under contract beyond this season.
Biggest needs: CB, WR, OG, TE, EDGE
Week 13 opponent: vs. Steelers
Remaining strength of schedule: .493 (18th)
Trey Hendrickson is one of the most productive pass rushers in the league and Sam Hubbard continues to be a solid contributor, although perhaps not at the same level we grew accustomed to seeing in his previous six seasons. Both are on track to become free agents after 2025, though, so the Bengals need to add more depth on the edge sooner rather than later.
Biggest needs: Edge, CB, WR, S, DT
Week 13 opponent: vs. Rams
Remaining strength of schedule: .433 (T-26th)
Injuries to Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed exposed a lack of depth at wideout. Although Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been a godsend for this club since signing on a little over a month ago, the 30-year-old will be a free agent this spring. Adding a young wideout during the draft's first four rounds would be a prudent move.
Biggest needs: RB, WR, Edge, DT, CB
Week 13 opponent: vs. Giants
Remaining strength of schedule: .448 (T-24th)
Dallas' edge rusher group has not been at full strength this year, with Demarcus Lawrence, Micah Parsons, Marshawn Kneeland and Sam Williams all sidelined at times this season due to injuries. Getting healthy would be the first step in solving Dallas' problems up front; adding another young rusher certainly wouldn't hurt, though.
Biggest needs: CB, IOL, Edge, LB, S
Week 13 opponent: at Patriots
Remaining strength of schedule: .298 (32nd)
Finding another outside cornerback to complement JuJu Brents and Jaylon Jones is a must. Samuel Womack has done a nice job since stepping in for the injured Brents early in the year, but more depth is needed at the position.
Biggest needs: S, OG, DT, LB, QB
Week 13 opponent: at Packers
Remaining strength of schedule: .433 (T-26th)
It looks like the Dolphins will need to find another linebacker in the 2025 draft. Miami claimed Tyrel Dodson off waivers from Seattle earlier this month, but he'll be a free agent after the season, as will Anthony Walker Jr. Also, former third-round pick Channing Tindall has not worked his way into the defensive rotation.
Biggest needs: DT, CB, OG, LB, OT
Week 13 opponent: at Bills
Remaining strength of schedule: .591 (T-5th)
Fred Warner's supporting cast at linebacker might look significantly different in 2025. Dre Greenlaw, De'Vondre Campbell and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles are impending free agents. I’m expecting the team to use a middle-round selection on the position.
Biggest needs: OT, CB, WR, LB, QB
Week 13 opponent: at Saints
Remaining strength of schedule: .500 (T-15th)
Receivers Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Tyler Johnson are headed for free agency. Cooper Kupp turns 32 in June and has missed significant time with injuries since his record-setting 2021 season. Adding another young reliable playmaker would give Matthew Stafford the best chance for a strong 2025 campaign.
Biggest needs: WR, OG, LB, Edge, CB
Week 13 opponent: at Panthers
Remaining strength of schedule: .348 (30th)
Longtime starting linebacker Lavonte David turns 35 in January and is due to become a free agent in March, as is fellow ‘backer K.J. Britt. SirVocea Dennis was showing promise before he injured his shoulder in October, but the Bucs will need more players at the position if Britt and David are not on the team next fall.
Biggest needs: Edge, WR, OG, CB, DT
Week 13 opponent: at Vikings
Remaining strength of schedule: .463 (23rd)
Darius Robinson, a first-round pick in this year’s draft, has yet to see the field, but the Cardinals will be counting on him to be an anchor in 2025. There are some long-term question marks up front, though, with Roy Lopez and L.J. Collier among the defensive linemen heading into free agency.
Biggest needs: Edge, LB, OT, DT, OG
Week 13 opponent: at Jets
Remaining strength of schedule: .530 (T-9th)
Biggest needs: C, Edge, S, CB, WR
Week 13 opponent: vs. Chargers
Remaining strength of schedule: .448 (T-24th)
Biggest needs: WR, Edge, LB, CB, OT
Week 13 opponent: vs. Titans
Remaining strength of schedule: .473 (21st)
Biggest needs: OT, LB, TE, S, RB
Week 13 opponent: vs. Browns
Remaining strength of schedule: .518 (T-12th)
Biggest needs: OG, DT, CB, S, WR
Week 13 opponent: at Jaguars
Remaining strength of schedule: .500 (T-15th)
Biggest needs: Edge, DT, C, TE, WR
Week 13 opponent: at Falcons
Remaining strength of schedule: .485 (T-19th)
Biggest needs: OT, WR, Edge, OG, CB
Week 13 opponent: vs. Eagles
Remaining strength of schedule: .518 (T-12th)
Biggest needs: QB, CB, OT, RB, WR
Week 13 opponent: at Bengals
Remaining strength of schedule: .567 (8th)
Biggest needs: CB, Edge, OT, DT, WR
Week 13 opponent: vs. Dolphins
Remaining strength of schedule: .576 (7th)
Biggest needs: WR, Edge, TE, LB, OT
Week 13 opponent: at Ravens
Remaining strength of schedule: .471 (22nd)
Biggest needs: CB, DT, RB, OG, OT
Week 13 opponent: vs. Cardinals
Remaining strength of schedule: .606 (4th)
Biggest needs: Edge, CB, WR, DT, S
Week 13 opponent: vs. 49ers
Remaining strength of schedule: .426 (28th)
Biggest needs: CB, DT, OG, WR, LB
Week 13 opponent: vs. Raiders
Remaining strength of schedule: .500 (T-15th)
Biggest needs: Edge, CB, WR, OG, DT
Week 13 opponent: vs. Bears
Remaining strength of schedule: .591 (T-5th)
