INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Three players on the New England Patriots are dealing with illnesses just a few days before the Super Bowl.
Left tackle Matt Light and right tackle Sebastian Vollmer skipped Tuesday's media day with illnesses, coach Bill Belichick said. Linebacker Jerod Mayo attended but said he has a cold.
Light, a rookie on the Patriots' first Super Bowl championship team in the 2001 season, also missed a media session Monday and was replaced by center Dan Connolly.
Vollmer has been sidelined the last seven games because of foot and back injuries, but Belichick has said there's a chance he'll play on Sunday against the New York Giants.
