The Seattle Seahawks' defense wasn't the only thing holding back Adrian Peterson on Sunday.
The Minnesota Vikings running back admitted after Sunday's 41-20 loss that his groin hindered his performance.
"Actually, it was bothering me a lot," Peterson said, per the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "There were a couple plays in the first half, oh man, I knew if I was able to explode the way I normally do I could have gotten some big chunks, even taken it to the house."
Peterson carried the ball 21 times, gaining just 65 yards. He lacked the normal burst we are used to seeing from A.P.
The NFL's best back sat out practice Thursday and Friday in order to rest the injury. Peterson said his initial plan is to rest the injured groin again this week and push to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
