AFC East churns through coaches while Pats stand pat

The Buffalo Bills are moving on from Rex Ryan, a coach the New York Jets tired of just two winters ago.

Both teams reside in the AFC East, a division comprehensively owned by the mighty New England Patriots since the turn of the century.

Armed with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick -- the deadliest quarterback-and-coach combination in NFL history -- the Patriots and their fans have led an uber-blessed existence since Y2K.

The other three teams in the AFC East? Not so much.

The Bills, Jets and Dolphins have churned through coaches at a furious pace, a trend that continued Tuesday with Ryan's canning and might not be over if Gang Green owner Woody Johnson loses faith in flailing head-man Todd Bowles.

Take a gander at the furious carnival of names that have come and gone in an uneven division ruled thoroughly for a decade-plus by Tommy and Bill:
