Representatives from all 32 NFL teams, including a large contingent of coaches for the New Orleans Saints, were present at Alabama's pro day on Wednesday.
A total of 16 players worked out indoors on FieldTurf at an extremely well-organized pro day event.
Wide receiver Amari Cooper (6-foot-1 1/2, 209 pounds) had a 34-inch vertical jump and stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine, where he had the top time among wide receivers in the 20-yard shuttle and was a top performer among receivers in the three-cone drill. Cooper had a great positional workout. He caught the ball really well, displaying excellent hands. Cooper had just one drop, but it came on a low ball. Cooper is going to be a top-five type pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Strong safety Landon Collins (6-0 1/2, 221) performed 16 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, and then stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine, where he was a top performer in his position group in the 40-yard dash. Collins' pro-day workout was conducted by Cincinnati Bengals defensive backs coach Mark Carrier. Collins had a very good workout. He is very similar to Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, the Green Bay Packers' first-round choice in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Running back T.J. Yeldon (6-1 1/2, 220) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.52 and 4.53 seconds. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine. There were four running backs coaches at Alabama's pro day working out Yeldon, who caught the ball really well coming out of the backfield.
Inside linebacker Trey DePriest (6-0 3/4, 258) ran the 40 in 4.92 and 4.93 seconds. He was another 'Bama guy with a good pro-day workout.
Outside linebacker Xzavier Dickson (6-3 1/4, 263) ran the 40 in 4.83 and 4.77 seconds. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine. Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards put Dickson through his workout, which went well.
Fullback Jalston Fowler (5-11 1/8, 251) ran the 40 in 4.83 and 4.85 seconds, standing on the rest of his numbers from the combine. Fowler finished up his workout with a great one-handed catch. He's a well-liked player, who the coaches brag on.
Offensive guard Arie Kouandjio (6-4 7/8, 301) ran the 40 in 5.47 and 5.46 seconds. He had a 25-inch vertical jump and 8-foot-4 broad jump. An offensive line coach from the Bengals put Kouandjio through his positional workout.
Defensive back Nick Perry (6-0 3/4, 201) ran the 40 in 4.62 and 4.65 seconds. He really looked good in the workout, and could go as early as the sixth or seventh round of the draft, or be a priority free-agent pickup for a team following the draft.
