A wrist injury isn't slowing down Jaelen Strong's ability to fly around the country.
The Arizona State wide receiver's schedule appears to be jam-packed with visits to teams, and the latest is a Friday stop in Pittsburgh to talk with the Steelers, according to Steelers.com's Bob Labriola.
Strong is part of a loaded crop of wide receivers this year and has been mentioned as a potential first-round selection for some team in the bottom half of the round.
It's not as if the Steelers need to target a pass catcher with the No. 22 overall pick, given they have a pretty good trio with Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton and Martavis Bryant, among others, on the roster. Still, the team will no doubt do all the homework it can on an interesting prospect who could give them another big, physical receiver for Ben Roethlisberger to target.
What is interesting is the timing of the visit, though.
NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport said on Wednesday Strong has a broken bone in his wrist and might need surgery. Such a discovery this close to the draft normally would prompt a visit to Indianapolis for a NFL Scouting Combine medical re-check, but according to Pro Football Talk, scheduling issues -- possibly the scheduled visit to the Steel City -- prevented the wideout from making a return trip to Indianapolis.
Updated medical information was distributed to teams, according to the report.
Strong isn't the only potential first-round wide receiver to visit the Steelers. UCF's Breshad Perriman made a visit on April 10.
