Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall torched the SEC's worst rushing defense, Tennessee, for 214 yards on the ground Saturday, establishing his place as perhaps the most dangerous rushing quarterback in the league this season.
With Johnny Manziel's rushing attempts being far more limited this year, it's not an overstatement.
Auburn scored 55 points, yet Marshall needed to throw only seven passes in a 55-23 blowout win over the Volunteers. He scored on touchdown runs of 7 and 38 yards late in the first half to turn the game in Auburn's favor. See the 38-yarder at the 0:55 mark of this clip:
Marshall now has 734 rushing yards on the year. Barring 200-plus-yard rushing efforts by either Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel or Mississippi State's Dak Prescott, who oppose each other Saturday, that will be enough to rank Marshall as the league's most prolific rushing quarterback entering next week's games.
