ATLANTA -- Auburn left tackle Greg Robinson told College Football 24/7 that he is considering declaring for early eligibility for the 2014 NFL Draft.
After helping Auburn dispatch Missouri 59-42 in the SEC championship game on the strength of 545 rushing yards, Robinson indicated he has heard talk that he could be drafted as early as the first round.
"They've been telling me this and that, I've seen my name on a few boards, but our focus lately has been this big game, and really the bowl game is next," Robinson said. "I'm not focused on the NFL until the time comes."
A third-year sophomore who was not considered a top prospect at the beginning of the season, Robinson (6-foot-5, 305 pounds) has been a dominant presence on the Auburn offensive line all year, particularly as a run blocker.
Robinson said he has not yet filed for feedback from the NFL Draft Advisory Board, which provides underclassmen with a general idea of where they might be drafted if they choose to turn pro early. That feedback is typically returned to players in early January, and the deadline for underclassmen to declare is Jan. 15.
If Robinson chooses to leave early, he will join a deep group of draftable left tackles from the SEC, including Jake Matthews of Texas A&M, Tennessee junior Antonio Richardson and Wesley Johnson of Vanderbilt. Other SEC left tackles that will consider an early jump to the NFL include Alabama's Cyrus Kouandjio, LSU's La'El Collins and South Carolina's Corey Robinson.
