Baylor wide receiver KD Cannon intends to apply for early eligibility into the 2017 NFL Draft.
He announced the decision on Wednesday via Twitter.
Cannon (6-feet, 180 pounds) has been an explosive target in Baylor's prolific passing attack the last three seasons, and closed his college career in spectacular fashion Tuesday in the Bears' 31-12 win over Boise State in the Cactus Bowl. The junior caught 14 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns in the game, marking the fourth 200-yard receiving performance of his career.
College underclassmen face a Jan. 16 deadline to apply for early draft eligibility.
Cannon has been a starter for the Bears since his freshman year, when he caught 58 passes for 1,030 yards, a career-best average of 17.8 yards per catch. Known as one of the most dangerous deep threats in the nation, Cannon was selected as one of College Football 24/7's fastest players entering the season.
As a sophomore in 2015, Cannon helped derail Oklahoma State's hopes for a College Football Playoff berth with a five-catch, 210-yard game against the Cowboys in a 45-35 Bears win.
