As it turns out, Ben Roethlisberger was just getting warmed up last week.
The Steelers quarterback put up a second consecutive six-touchdown game Sunday, giving him 12 in the past two weeks and, obviously, another AFC offensive player of the week award.
Over his last two games, Roethlisberger has completed 65 of 86 passes for 862 yards. He has not thrown an interception and has completed nearly 76 percent of his passes. At age 32, he might be playing better than ever.
Over on the NFC side, Philadelphia's Jeremy Maclin was just as much of a no brainer. The Missouri grad has been fantastic this year, especially considering the fact that he's recovering from a serious ACL injury. Maclin helped Philadelphia squeeze by Houston on Sunday with six catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
Here are the rest of our Week 9 winners:
AFC
Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes: Grimes helped Miami torch the San Diego Chargers with three tackles and two interceptions.
Patriots wide receiver and punt returner Julian Edelman: He brought a punt back 84 yards for a touchdown against the Broncos. That was on top of nine receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown on offense.
NFC
Saints linebacker Junior Galette: Galette had four tackles, two sacks and a huge forced fumble in New Orleans' 28-10 thrashing of the Carolina Panthers on Thursday.
Cardinals cornerback Justin Bethel: He flew off the edge in the second quarter against Dallas and recorded his third career blocked field goal, which was nearly returned for a touchdown. It helped lift Arizona to a 28-17 win over the Cowboys.
