Brandon LaFell won't be changing addresses in 2017.
The impending free-agent receiver has signed a two-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced Thursday. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the contract is worth up to $10 million.
LaFell exceeded expectations as a second-fiddle to A.J. Green last season and shouldered a larger role when Green was sidelined with an injury.
The 30-year-old receiver compiled 64 receptions for 862 yards and six touchdowns in 2016. Locking down the veteran gives Andy Dalton a receiving corps headlined by Green, LaFell and 2016 second-round pick Tyler Boyd.
LaFell's career has ebbed and flowed. As a deep threat, he can entice with a size speed combo. But after flashing, he can also struggle, as we saw in his forgettable 2015 season with the Patriots.
The Bengals are betting that lining LaFell next to Green will allow him to find consistency in 2017.
