Biaggio Ali Walsh, grandson of Muhammad Ali, commits to Cal

Biaggio Ali Walsh, the grandson of late boxing legend Muhammad Ali, has committed to play football at Cal.

The Las Vegas Bishop Gorman High School running back chose the Golden Bears over scholarship offers from Arizona, Hawaii, Louisville and others, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Part of the attraction for Walsh was former NFL RB Marshawn Lynch, who starred at Cal from 2004-2006. Ali Walsh has posted about some of his interactions with Lynch via social media, including a photo of a video chat he had with the retired Seattle Seahawks star regarding his visit to the school last week:

Ali Walsh (5-foot-11, 185 pounds) is rated a three-star recruit by both Rivals.com and 247Sports.com.

The Gatorade Nevada Player of the Year rushed for 2,451 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior last season. Assuming he follows through on his commitment (oral commitments are non-binding), he will sign with Cal in February and be eligible to play in 2017.
