ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills signed running back Chad Simpson, who spent the past two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.
The Bills announced the deal Tuesday, but didn't disclose terms.
Simpson is the latest addition to a crowded Bills backfield that includes Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson, who split the starting duties last season, and first-round draft pick C.J. Spiller.
Buffalo also has running backs Walter Mendenhall and Joique Bell on its depth chart.
Simpson was mostly used on kickoff returns with the Colts. He also had 30 carries for 147 yards and one touchdown before being released by Indianapolis last month.
To make room for Simpson, the Bills released defensive tackle Marlon Favorite, who was signed in March.
