Brandon Weeden, like the common house cat, has many lives.
The Cleveland Browns quarterback will reassume the starting quarterback spot for the third time this season.
"For the next five weeks, I'm a Cleveland Brown," Weeden said Wednesday, per The Plain Dealer. "After that, whatever happens is out of my control. I'm excited. This is one of the best teams I've ever been on as far as just the group of guys in this locker room, the atmosphere we have going on, the friendships we have and the camaraderie. It's great."
Weeden said he isn't worried about the prospect of fans booing him incessantly during Sunday's home contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The second-year pro said he's learned to block out the critics.
"I don't listen to outside noise," Weeden said. "(I've) gotten rid of Twitter and all that junk. I don't need 5-year-old kids telling me how to play the quarterback position, so it's made it really easy. It hasn't been an issue. I've got great support in this locker room."
(Must ... not ... make ... joke ...)
Weeden also said he didn't really learn anything while backing up Jason Campbell.
"It's different when you're out there on the field under live bullets versus sitting on the sideline getting a little different perspective of it," he said. "I can't say I learned anything. I learned being a backup quarterback you have to prepare like you're going to play."
Weeden has five games left with the Browns to prove to NFL coaches he can be a pro quarterback, backup or otherwise.
