The three-headed quarterback monster at Ohio State won't be losing any of those heads in the offseason.
At least, that appears to be the case given Braxton Miller's remarks Saturday during the Buckeyes' national championship celebration.
"Guess what, we've got another year to do it. So go Bucks," Miller told the crowd, according to Columbus Dispatch reporter Tim May.
Miller was a preseason Heisman Trophy candidate but never saw a snap during the 2014 season due to an August shoulder injury that required surgery. His replacement, freshman J.T. Barrett, went 11-1 before his fractured ankle prompted sophomore Cardale Jones to finish the season with three consecutive postseason wins. Heavy speculation was that at least one of the three quarterbacks would be gone after the season -- Jones perhaps to the NFL draft and Miller perhaps by transfer -- but neither materialized. Jones announced he would return to the Buckeyes rather than entering the draft. Further confirmation of Miller's immediate intentions came earlier in the week with the news that Miller was enrolled for spring classes at OSU.
Miller could still transfer after the spring term. No doubt, he might be more tempted to make a move if he doesn't exit spring practice as the starter. With only one season of NCAA eligibility remaining, he doesn't have a year to sit on anyone's bench -- OSU's included.
But for now, Miller's intentions are clear enough.
