It was over when ...
Saints quarterback Drew Brees stopped throwing touchdown passes. The Saints jumped out to an early 14-0 lead when Brees connected with Marques Colston and Robert Meachem. The Saints added two more touchdowns in the second quarter and were never threatened.
Game ball
Brees is an obvious choice, but TE Jeremy Shockey had a breakout game for the Saints, catching a pair of touchdown passes in the second quarter. Shockey was disappointing last year for the for the Saints, failing to score a touchdown. This already explosive Saints offense would receive a huge boost if Shockey can continue this type of production.
