Brees, Stafford lead owners to fantasy title weekend

Who was the Fantasy Player of the Week? Vote on the top performers and decide!

Drew Brees, QB, Saints

Brees was a fantasy hero against the Vikings, lighting up their defensive backfield for 412 yards and five touchdowns in a blowout win. His scores came on passes of 5, 1, 13, 2 and 47 yards, two of which went to Lance Moore. Now on pace for a record-breaking 5,462 passing yards and 43 total touchdowns, Brees has quietly continued to be one of the top quarterbacks in fantasy land. He's a must-start against the Falcons next Monday night.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Lions

One of the best bargains in fantasy land this season, Stafford torched the Raiders for 391 yards and four touchdowns en route to one of his best stat lines. The talented signal-caller connected on scores of 51, 39, 3 and 6 yards, two of which went to Calvin Johnson. Now on pace to finish with over 4,700 passing yards and around 38 touchdowns, Stafford has proven to have the skills to be an elite fantasy option. He'll face the Chargers in championship week.

Tim Tebow, QB, Broncos

Far be it from me to talk about Tebow (sarcasm?), but the man scored a ton of fantasy points in a loss to Tom Brady and the Pats. The Florida product went off for 194 passing yards, 93 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in a 41-23 loss. Tebow, who found the end zone on runs of 9 and 2 yards, scored six-tenths of a point more than Brady in the contest. He should be active for owners in championship week against the Bills and their questionable defense.

C.J. Spiller, RB, Bills

Despite facing a tough Dolphins run defense, Spiller was still able to record the best fantasy stat line of his pro career. The Clemson product rushed for 91 yards, hauled in nine passes for another 76 yards and found the end zone twice in a 30-23 loss. Spiller, who scored touchdowns on a 24-yard run and a 3-yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick, should be considered a viable No. 2 fantasy back against the Broncos during championship week.

Calvin Johnson, WR, Lions

Countless fantasy owners were worried about Johnson, who had posted some mediocre stat lines in recent weeks. But those concerns were put to rest against the Raiders, as the man called Megatron went off for nine catches, a ridiculous 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 28-27 win. Johnson, who scored on passes of 51 and 6 yards from Stafford, has now surpassed his previous career best in yards and touchdowns -- and he still has two weeks left.
