The Tampa Bay Buccaneers interviewed former Green Bay Packers and Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman on Wednesday, reported NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, citing league sources.
Sherman went 57-39 in six seasons in Green Bay from 2000-05 and led the Packers to three NFC North titles. He has a history developing quarterbacks, working with Brett Favre and drafting Aaron Rodgers, and would work with Josh Freeman in Tampa.
Sherman was fired in 2005 after a 4-12 season. His last season in the NFL was as offensive coordinator with the Texans in 2007.
The Buccaneershave also been linked to Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey.
The Tampa Bay Times reported the Bucs also interviewed Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray in Houston on Wednesday.
General manager Mark Dominik participated in both interviews, which took place in Texas, according to the report.
