The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they have promoted former NFL quarterback Doug Williams to coordinator of pro scouting.
Williams, who has been with the Bucs as a personnel executive since 2004, will coordinate the scouting and recruiting of all NFL players, monitor NFL transactions and oversee player tryouts. He'll also be in charge of evaluating players in other professional football leagues.
The Bucs also announced that they have hired Joe Baker as defensive backs coach and Robert Nunn as defensive line coach. The team also promoted Kurtis Shultz to head strength and conditioning coach and Dwayne Stukes to assistant defensive backs coach.
Baker has worked in the NFL for the last nine seasons, spending time with the Denver Broncos (2007-08), St. Louis Rams (2006), Green Bay Packers (2005) and New Orleans Saints (2000-04). He also worked for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 1995 to 1998.
Nunn, who will work alongside defensive line coach Todd Wash, has coached in the NFL since 2000, with the Miami Dolphins (2000-02, 2004), Washington Redskins (2003) and Green Bay Packers (2005-08).
Stukes has been with the Buccaneers since 2006 as a coaches assistant (2006-07) and special teams quality-control coach (2008).
Shultz has coached in the NFL since 2003, with the Cincinnati Bengals (2003), Minnesota Vikings (2004-05) and Tampa Bay (2006-08) as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. Chris Keenan was hired to be Shultz's assistant.
