Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb played through a right foot injury during Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, an ailment coach Ken Whisenhunt revealed is a case of turf toe.
Whisenhunt confirmed several reports of the injury during his news conference, saying the team wouldn't know more about the injury until late Monday or Tuesday. He did refer to Kolb's toe as swollen and "black and blue."

“It shows he’s a tough guy," Whisenhunt said of Kolb staying in the game. "Those things, you just don't ever know. We’ll have to see how it responds to treatment."
Kolb was wearing a walking boot on his right leg after the game, according to the Arizona Republic, a precautionary measure for an injury that is painful and lingering by nature. Whisenhunt hinted the quarterback had trouble pushing off his plant leg, but it was never a discussion that Kolb would come out of the game.
“It probably hurt him a little during the second half," Whisenhunt said. "It wasn’t something we talked about. He said he could go, so he was in there. He fought through it.”
Kolb acknowledged to reporters during a postgame interview session Sunday that he sustained the injury early in the game, but he said he didn't know what it was. He was limping noticeably on the Cardinals' first drive of the game, but never came out, completing 10 of 21 passes for 153 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
It has to be considered a positive that Kolb's injury never was painful enough to force him out of Sunday's game. But with John Skelton and then Richard Bartel next up on the depth chart, the Cardinals have very little experience to turn to if Kolb is out for any substantial length of time.
