TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals signed two-time Pro Bowl punter Mitch Berger on Thursday.
Berger replaces Mike Barr, who was released Tuesday.
In his 13th NFL season, Berger has a career average of 43.7 yards per punt, with 227 kicks inside the 20-yard line in 159 games. He spent the 2006 season on injured reserve with the New Orleans Saints because of a pelvic injury.
Berger was a sixth-round draft pick of Philadelphia out of Colorado in 1994. He was out of football in 1995, then spent six seasons with Minnesota. He also punted for St. Louis for one season before going to the Saints in 2005.
Berger made the Pro Bowl with Minnesota in 1999 and New Orleans in 2004.
