Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb is officially questionable for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, but it doesn't sound like coach Ken Whisenhunt plans to make his starter available.
Whisenhunt told Sirius NFL Radio on Saturday that backup John Skelton, who has started the last three games in place of the injured Kolb, "is probably gonna go tomorrow" against the Rams.
It's been thought all week that Kolb would be a game-time decision for the Cardinals after he took part in a limited portion of practice all three days this week. Whisenhunt confirmed as much, saying Kolb would test his injured right foot on the turf at the Edward Jones Dome before the game. But he doesn't sound optimistic.
Kolb was also listed as questionable last week but was a late scratch against the 49ers in favor of Skelton, who has led the Cardinals to a 2-1 record as the starter but struggled in the 23-7 loss in San Francisco.
Kolb has missed the past four games with a case of turf toe, a bone bruise and a significant sprain in his right foot.
