The Jacksonville Jaguars have not closed the door on wide receiver Cecil Shorts playing Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
Shorts entered last weekend's tilt with the Denver Broncos nursing a groin injury. He left with his arm in a sling after spraining his right shoulder on the third snap of the game.
Jags coach Gus Bradley wouldn't rule out Shorts' availability for Week 7.
"He could play," Bradley said Monday, per the Jaguars' official website. "He's sore now, so we'll know more in a couple of days. The good news is the joint is stable."
The Jags would like to deploy their young trio of receivers -- Shorts, Justin Blackmon and rookie Ace Sanders -- together as much as possible this season as they build for the future.
Blackmon has had two superb games since returning from suspension. Bradley said Blackmon likely would miss practice Wednesday with groin/hamstring issues, but the wideout is expected to play Sunday.
When Shorts and Blackmon are on the field together, the Jaguars boast one of the most dynamic young pass-catching combos in the NFL -- if they could just find a quarterback.
Meanwhile, Shorts didn't have a sling on his injured arm Monday.
"I'm not a sling guy," Shorts said.
Neither are we, Cecil. Neither are we.
