San Diego ChargersPro Bowl wide receiver Vincent Jackson pleaded guilty Friday to knowingly driving with a suspended license, stemming from his traffic stop hours before the team's home playoff loss to the New York Jets on Jan. 17, the *San Diego Union-Tribune* reported.
Jackson's attorney, Cole Casey, told the Union-Tribune that his client's plea was part of a deal with prosecutors in which he will receive a fine of less than $1,000 and about 80 hours of community service. As part of the deal, Jackson, who originally faced two misdemeanor counts related to driving with a suspended license, had charges dismissed. He pleaded to only one misdemeanor.
The NFL is still reviewing Jackson's case, the Union-Tribune reported, citing a league spokesman. Because of his two DUIs since 2006, Jackson could face a suspension to open the 2010 season under the league's substance-abuse policy.
