Matt Cassel will get a chance to beat his old coach, Todd Haley.
Kansas City Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel announced Wednesday that Brady Quinn still hasn't been cleared to play after suffering a concussion against the Oakland Raiders. Crennel indicated Quinn will get the starting quarterback job back when healthy, but he's already ruled out for this week, along with defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey.
Cassel and Haley had a rocky relationship at times in Kansas City before Haley was fired. Now Haley is running a talented Pittsburgh Steelers offense that figures to roll over the Chiefs, who have been the worst team in football. Just when you think this Chiefs season couldn't get any lower, Monday night's game threatens to be the nadir.
Crennel also confirmed that newly appointed defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs will call defensive plays against the Steelers, which will allow Crennel to pay more attention to the offense. It needs it.
