September was not a kind month for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2011.
In the season opener on Sept. 11, star safety Eric Berry tore his ACL and was lost for the season. The Chiefs' knockout blow came a week later, when All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles suffered the same devastating injury in Detroit.
"I don't know if its good or bad but I feel like I'm still the fastest on my team after my ACL surgery," Charles tweeted Saturday.
Charles' absence from Kansas City's OTA sessions is purely a precautionary measure and he is expected to be ready to go by training camp. The same plan is in place for Berry and tight end Tony Moeaki, yet another ACL victim last September.
