A day after star linebacker Tamba Hali publicly backed his interim head coach, the Romeo Crennel lovefest continued in Kansas City during offensive coordinator Bill Muir's weekly sitdown with the media.

Muir evoked similar sentiments to Hali's in stating Thursday that Crennel was the best man the organization could hire for its permanent head coaching position, before offering a not-so-subtle dig at departed coach Todd Haley.
"Romeo is an excellent choice at this particular time," Muir said, via the Kansas City Star. "He's good for this football team. The Kansas City Chiefs would do well to hire Romeo Crennel.
"He's the man for the job here. The defense has started to turn the corner. I think it would be a shame to change that. Romeo's demeanor as a head football coach relates very well to the players. He has a sternness about him without being a dictatorial type of man. He will do a good job."
Muir also insinuated the offense operated more smoothly during the Chiefs' 19-14 win over the Green Bay Packers last Sunday without Haley on the sideline. The Star insinuated that the Chiefs looked like they relayed their play-calls to quarterback Kyle Orton in a more consistent fashion, and Muir did not dispute that assessment.
"If you thought it appeared that," Muir said, "then it probably was. Romeo delegates authority and expects the people who are given authority to do their job."
Crennel will look to go 2-0 as interim head coach when the Chiefshost the Oakland Raiders this Saturday.
