Chiefs promote Andy Reid's son to defensive line coach

Another son of an NFL head coach earned a promotion this offseason.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Friday Britt Reid, the son of Andy Reid, was promoted to defensive line coach, after serving as assistant line coach to long-time line coach Tommy Brasher. Brasher was moved to a "special projects" position.

The promotion is the latest upswing for Britt, after he was sentenced to jail time back in 2007.

The younger Reid has been praised by Kansas City defensive lineman. Jaye Howard, one of the most underrated defensive lineman last season, credited his post-practice technique work with Reid for his breakout 2015 season.

Reid's promotion comes weeks after the New England Patriots promoted Bill Belichick's son, Steve, to safeties coach.

Among other staff moves, the Chiefs also announced former Packers and Eagles cornerback Al Harris was promoted to safeties coach/cornerbacks.
