Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders won't throw at 2025 NFL Scouting Combine

One of the top quarterback prospects won't be throwing at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, which kicks off in Indianapolis on Thursday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders plans to focus on his interviews with teams at the combine, helping them continue to learn about him as a person, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday, per sources.

Sanders, who is expected to be a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft in April, will instead throw and work out for scouts at Colorado’s pro day, Rapoport added, a date for which has not yet been set.

It has been a trend recently for top quarterback prospects to sit out drills at the unfamiliar territory of the combine. Last year, Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels decided not to throw at the combine, choosing to participate in drills at their respective pro days like Sanders intends.

After the Buffaloes' 2024 season, Sanders was invited to the 100th East-West Shrine Bowl game but did not participate.

During Super Bowl week, Sanders made an appearance on NFL Network and spoke about keeping an open mind during the transition from the college to pro level.

"It's all about the process," Sanders said. "The teams picking me, I don't really have much of a say on that."

In his senior season with Colorado, Sanders threw 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions through 13 games. He finished eighth in Heisman Trophy voting, with his teammate and two-way player Travis Hunter winning the award.

NFL teams will surely want to speak with Sanders, but now they know they'll have to wait until Colorado's pro day to see him throw again.
