New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston said Wednesday that a small plate was inserted into his fractured collarbone and he expects to miss four weeks from the injury, according to a report from The Times-Picayune.
The five-year veteran broke his collarbone late in the Saints' 42-34 loss to the Packers on Thursday. Colston made a diving catch to give New Orleans a first down in Green Bay territory during the Saints' final drive of the game, but appeared to favor his right shoulder after the play.
Colston had six catches for 81 yards against the Packers, and quarterback Drew Brees will now look to wideouts Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem to pick up the slack until Colston returns.
New Orleans will look to avoid an 0-2 start when the Chicago Bears visit the Superdome on Sunday.
