Ahmad Bradshaw won't play for the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. How much longer he'll miss beyond that remains unclear.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday, via a team source, that the Colts' current plan for Bradshaw is to rest the neck in order to relieve the stiffness and discomfort. The team doesn't have a timetable beyond Sunday. Essentially, it's wait-and-see mode with the veteran, though the situation doesn't appear serious at this time.
Trent Richardson, acquired in that bold trade last week, will be Indianapolis' primary ball-carrier against the Jacksonville Jaguarson Sunday.
Colts coach Chuck Pagano hasn't provided specifics about Bradshaw's injury, only saying the running back suffered a "significant blow" during Sunday's win over the San Francisco 49ers. Bradshaw had 111 total yards and a touchdown in the game.
Given Bradshaw's injury history, it makes sense to take a more conservative route. If you can do that with one of the NFL's have-nots up next on the schedule, even better.
