When Adrian Peterson was bottled up for 31 yards on 10 carries in his 2015 debut, it was natural to wonder if he might have lost a step after missing 15 games last season.
After watching Peterson rack up 192 yards on 31 touches versus the Lions last week, coach Mike Zimmer is confident that his bell-cow has reclaimed his rightful place atop the NFL's backfield hierarchy.
"I did love the way he ran," coach Mike Zimmer told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday. "He ran extremely strong, he had great feet in and out of the hole, he had excellent vision, and he ran with a lot of physicality."
Peterson's Week 3 opponent doesn't need any convincing after watching the Week 2 film.
"He showed on Sunday he's still a No. 1 elite running back in the NFL," Chargers end Corey Liuget said, via the San Diego Union-Tribune.
