Cowboys' Jerry Jones tight-lipped on 'The Dez Rules'

Apparently, the first Dez rule is you don't talk about "The Dez Rules."

Two days after Jerry Jones appeared to confirm a strict set of behavior guidelines for troubled wide receiver Dez Bryant, the Dallas Cowboys owner said he's not sure how the media "has come up with" the guidelines that have been reported.

"I'm not going to discuss any of the rules because that implies that there are a certain set of rules and I don't know that that's correct, either," Jones told KRLD-FM on Tuesday, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "So, really, just by the nature of it, it's not one you would really discuss. We have rules of behavior in the NFL. We have rules of behavior with the Cowboys as well. I'm not so sure there’s been any new rule created here."

Jones spoke more openly of Bryant's situation this weekend, when he told Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com that the restrictions placed on Bryant weren't the strictest he's laid out in his time with the Cowboys.

According to Watkins' report, the new guidelines -- enacted on Aug. 23 -- prohibit Bryant from going to strip clubs, certain nightclubs, or drinking alcohol. Additionally, he has a midnight curfew, must meet with a counselor, and must travel with a rotating three-man security team.

On Tuesday, former Cowboys receiver Drew Pearson criticized the guidelines, claiming they will ultimately harm Bryant when his playing days are over.
