Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was involved in a late-night incident at a Dallas bar on Sunday, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Elliott's representatives declined to comment on specifics tied to the incident. There was no police report and no arrest or detainment, Elliott's reps told Rapoport.
In a statement, Dallas Police confirmed to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero it's investigating an alleged assault that occurred at the Clutch Bar and Restaurant in Dallas on Sunday night where Elliott reportedly was in attendance. The police did not list Elliott or any other potential suspects in the statement. Elliott has not been arrested, Dallas Police spokeswoman Melinda Gutierrez told Pelissero.
The Cowboys are aware of the incident and have declined further comment, Rapoport reported on Good Morning Football.
"We are aware of the matter and looking into it to understand the facts," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told Rapoport.
Mike Fisher of KRLD-FM in Dallas first reported Elliott's involvement in the incident at Clutch Bar and Restaurant in Dallas.
Elliott is currently being investigated by the NFL for domestic violence allegations made by his former girlfriend in July 2016.
