Darrelle Revisshowed up to New York Jets training camp. He reportedly looked good on the Jets' conditioning test. Everything is cool between him and the team, right?
Not so fast.
Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports paints a relatively dire picture of the "fractured" relationship between Revis' agents and the New York Jets organization. Cole has a source who says Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum refused to repeated attempts by Revis' agents to meet.
Revis reportedly always planned to come to training camp, but he wanted to make the Jets' brass sweat. Cole believes this latest ordeal "figures to nix any chance" of Revis remaining a Jet for life.
We wouldn't go that far, but there are some hard feelings here. Hard feelings tend to disappear when a team loads up a truck of money for a player. Revis still has one year remaining on his contract in 2013.
The Jets will have to pony up gigantic money to get evis signed or he'll be a free agent at age 28 in 2014. New York can't use the franchise tag on Revis because of his contract.
