ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A meeting is under way that could determine whether the Minnesota Vikings will go forward with plans to build a new football stadium at the site of the Metrodome.
Gov. Mark Dayton called the private meeting Wednesday and a spokesman says it could go all day. Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf walked into the governor's office in the morning along with several key state lawmakers, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and other officials.
The Vikings want public funding to help build a replacement for the Metrodome, but prefer other sites. Dayton and a key state lawmaker said this this week that the Metrodome site is the only one likely to get state funding help this year.
