Dez Bryant's decision to remove his helmet on the field of play cost the Dallas Cowboys 15 yards on Sunday, but it won't cost the wide receiver a cent.
Harrison: Week 10 Game Picks
Who will win the barnburner that Cowboys-Saints seems to always turn into? Elliot Harrison makes his Week 10 picks. **READ**
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that Bryant wasn't fined by the league for ripping off his headgear during an argument with an official during a 27-23 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Bryant went bareheaded while disputing a pass interference call against him, but later pleaded: "I wasn't angry at the ref."
"He threw the flag and the whole time I'm thinking it's a flag on him," Bryant said after the game, per The Dallas Morning News. "Then I took my helmet off and I didn't know that that was a penalty. I was kind of shocked and then I heard the ref say, 'He took his helmet off.' I know now not to take my helmet off. If you go back and look at the play, you'll see I'm shocked. I'm confused."
Uh-huh.
Onto the rest of this week's fines, per Rapoport:
»Patriots guard Logan Mankins was fined $10,000 for clipping in New England's 55-31 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
» In other headgear news, Cleveland Browns receiver Greg Little wasn't fined for tossing James Ihedigbo's helmet in last Sunday's 24-18 win over Baltimore, and the Ravens safety wasn't docked for allegedly choking Little on the same play.
» Tennessee safety Bernard Pollard added to his large list of infractions with a $10,000 fine for a late hit on St. Louis Rams quarterback Kellen Clemens during the Titans' 28-21 victory.
»Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was fined $15,750 for his helmet shot on Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in Tampa Bay's 27-24 overtime loss to Seattle.
»Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson was docked $7,875 for picking on Raiders punter Marquette King in Philadelphia's 49-20 romp over Oakland. D-Jax was flagged for grabbing and pulling King's facemask after his 32-yard punt return.
