The Miami Dolphins on Saturday made it official with Dion Jordan.
The team announced that the defensive end has been activated in time for Sunday's in-state showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars. To make room for Jordan on the 53-man roster, Miami waived wide receiver Damian Williams.
The move comes as little surprise after Jordan returned this week from his six-game suspension for multiple violations of the NFL's Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse.
The Dolphins have gotten by without last year's No. 3 overall pick, using Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon to pile up eight of the team's 17 sacks. That's 15 more than Jordan accounted for during his disappointing rookie campaign from a year ago.
Much has been made -- and for good reason -- over Jordan's fit in Miami's 4-3 scheme when the former Oregon star always made more sense as an edge rusher in a 3-4.
No matter the formation, though, it's time for Jordan to prove that he belongs on an NFL roster to begin with.
